Core and Northmoor Road Methodist Church are setting up a festival of music as part of our "Love our Neighbour" project. Music of our Streets Festival, hits the right note Sundaynights will never be the same again. June 15th, 22nd and 29th saw thelocal residents of the Northmoor area given the opportunity to hear the“Music of their streets”.
A series of three concerts wasorganised by Northmoor Road Methodist Church and the City Council. Theconcerts featured the music of the composers who gave their names tothe streets of the area. Over two hundred people came to hear the musicand people are now asking for more. This was a great chance for all tocelebrate the area and the concerts turned out to be a great social andcommunity occasion. There are many, many thanks to go out but we givespecial thanks to CORE who worked as hard as any group to make asuccess of the project.
The picture features the Mortimer Quintet who played for the final concert. Thegroup is trying to put together a course for anyone who is interestedin personal development. A sort of Hitchhikers guide to life? Thecourse will look at things like: stress, anxiety, the past, the future, taking control of your life, self nurture, living simply and livinglife to the full.
