A celebration in and of Longsight
The Music of Our Streets Festival
The Northmoor area of Longsight has many hidden wonders, not least are the gloriously named streets.
Elgar,Tallis. Parkin, Purcell, Parry, McKenzie, Sherrington, Patey ,Santley, Stainer, Barmby, Hopkins, McFarren, Sullivan, Hatton, Grainger, Attwood, Rushford, Blakey and Stanley to name a few.
We felt this rich musical history should be celebrated and to this end we are hosting three wonderful concerts.
The concerts were held on three consecutive Sundays in June, the 15th, 22nd and the 29th 2008.
The venue was Northmoor Road Methodist Church with admission free on a first come basis. All three concerts were led by professional musical groups and the programs were awesome.
This was a chance to really rejoice in this small corner of Manchester, we had a ball.
